Grenache Côtes du Cantalanes 2015 - The Local Bite

têtu, Grenache Côtes du Cantalanes 2015

The donkey is a symbol of Catalonia. This image serves to remind us of our old vine Grenache vineyards, stubbornly persevering in the rockiest of soils.

“Made by Richard Case, who’s the genius behind the Department 66 wines, the 2015 Cotes Catalanes Tetu is close to 100% Grenache and from a top selection of vineyards owned by the co-op in Maury. here’s roughly 7,000 cases of this beauty and it offers loads of sweet red fruits, (strawberries, cherries), pepper, iris and exotic spices in a medium to full-bodied, supple and sexy style that’s about as drinkable as they come. Count me as a fan and it’s a terrific value.”
– Robert M Parker Jr.

Chateau Auguste Bordeaux Rose 2021

Chateau Auguste is a 74-acre Bordeaux Superior estate located in the Right Bank region of Bordeaux within the Entre-Deux-Mers appellation. The estate is organically farmed, and the wine is certified organic. The winemaker plays music to his vines twice per day. This wine is comprised of 85% Merlot, 10% Cabernet Sauvignon and & 5% Cabernet Franc. Color is light pink rosé. The nose is very expressive, some strawberry notes and floral notes. Racy, precise, and light on its feet, this wine celebrates tangy red berry flavors and a bracingly beautiful minerality.

“Genodics uses various sound waves and frequencies to stimulate the vines natural resistance to pathogens such as bacteria, fungus, and viruses. This allows us to leave out the chemicals and pollutants…pure as nature intended.”
– Damien Landouar (winemaker)

2021 Innocent Bystander Pinot Noir - The Local Bite

2021 Innocent Bystander Pinot Noir

The Innocent Bystander philosophy is that great wine at its best is like a fingerprint – inextricably linking the personality, mood, and growing season of the land from which it has sprung. This wine is comprised of 100% hand-picked fruit, wild ferments, and gravity-flow winemaking techniques. 20% of the grapes were kept as whole bunches and juice was added to partially submerge those bunches. The fermenters were then covered, immersed with carbon dioxide, and left to cold macerate until fermentation by indigenous yeasts began. After fermentation the wine spent 11 months in 100% French oak barriques (10% new) for natural settling and was bottled without filtration or fining. A vibrant bouquet laded with red and blue fruits, savory spices, and dried flowers. The wine has a lovely weight and texture with polished, structured tannin and vibrant acidity.
